Masako Matsushita
freelance performer and choreographer Italian/Japanese, comes from Pesaro where she first approached dance. In 2008 she attended a dance theatre course at Paolo Grassi School in Milan IT. She trained at TrinityLaban Conservatoire of Music&Dance in London UK obtaining a BA (Hons) Dance Theatre in 2012.

As dancer she works for the duo Curandi Katz visual artist american-italian with the work ‘Resist Everywhere, Masako’ premier Drodesera Festival July 2015, Ingvild Isaksen norvegian choreographer with the work ‘Veggimellom’ presented at Scenhuset Oslo in Febbraio 2015 and with the work ‘People’ invited to festivals such as Ravnedans/Dans 5/Mind the Gap/HangartFest/Sanafest/In&Off/Norlys between 2013 and 2015, Cornelia Voglmayr austrian chireographer with the work Sonata in 3 movements’ invited to Festival La Becquée 2013, Janne Camille Lyester norvegian writer and choreographer with the work Adaptation as Choreography’ premier Ravnedans July 2015. She worked between 2012 and 2013 for Josiah McElheny in ‘Interactions of the abstract body’ for the White Cube Gallery London, Jeremy Nelson for City of London Festival at South Bank, Leonie Nadler at The place London, Rachel Lopez De La Nieta for City of London Festival at Guildhall Yard and Saint Paul cathedral, Matteo Fargion at Bonnie Bird Theatre, Marie Gabrielle Rotie at Bonnie Bird Theatre, Susan Sentler for designer’s Block and Made in England at Somerset House London.

She was artist in residency at RU-Residency Unlimited NY, Mitologie Urbane IT, Erkki Hirvela Atelier FI, Teatro Sperimentale IT, Centrale Fies IT, 4bid Gallery NL e HangartFest IT. She presented her own works in Festivals such as In& Off Danza inscena IT, Crash Festival UK, Neu/Now Festival 2012 on line e 2013 live NL, Its Festival NL, Armunia IT, Festival Aperto IT, Festival Ammutinamenti IT, HangartFest IX-X-XI ed. IT, CivitanovaDanza 2.0 IT, Revnedans e Sanafest NOR.

coreografa e danzatrice indipendente, si forma al TrinityLaban Conservatoire of Music&Dance di Londra ricevendo il Simone Michelle Award per coreografia, diplomandosi nel 2012

Il suo primo lavoro da autrice, dal titolo UN/DRESS, è una fusione tra oggetto e corpo selezionato dalla Vetrina della Giovane Danza D’autore e invitato in festival nazionali e internazionali dal 2012 ad oggi. Behind the speech you can hear è una ricerca sui gesti italiani e giapponesi presentato negli UK e Danimarca. Nel 2013 mette in scena al Teatro Cecchetti la coreografia De Visu In Situ Motus per un cast di diciotto interpreti, una produzione HangartFest in collaborazione con AMAT per Civitanova Danza 2.0. Lo stesso anno crea LE(GG)SS e Dance Blanche Passo A4 entrambi quartetti commissionati dal corso professionale Cia Danza COBIP. Nel 2014 viene selezionata per partecipare al progetto di residenza coreografica Prove d’Autore XL, coordinato da Cantieri/Rete Anticorpi XL con la partecipazione dei partner AMAT,ARTEVEN,ELECTA e Teatro Pubblico Pugliese in collaborazione con la Scuola Balletto di Toscana. Presenta lo stesso anno in Norvegia il lavoro FITISM pervasive culture exertion STUDIO#1 che vuole mettere in discussione la realtà attuale relativa all’allenamento, la salute, la bellezza e l’uso dei mezzi di comunicazione.
